Service Designer

We are looking for someone who wants to shape KTH’s user-centered work.
One of the more important strategic steps that KTH is taking in the development of working methods is that KTH’s digital solutions should be based on the needs of users and the business. KTH’s IT department is now looking for another service designer to join the team that is working to build KTH’s user-centered work.
KTH’s digitalization is organized into five sub-portfolios; Education, Research, Management, Infrastructure and IT. The role includes gathering knowledge about users and their journeys, disseminating the knowledge and participating as a designer in larger development efforts. In parallel with this, you are expected to collaborate with other leading roles in developing a common way of working where usability and accessibility are an important part of the whole. We are therefore looking for someone who is either used to leading employees and developing ways of working or sees it as your next step in your career as a designer.
Job duties
As a service designer, you will be part of a team, called a portfolio office. There, you will collaborate with different roles such as business analysts, solution architects and business specialists to build understanding of the business, manage needs and design solutions. In this role, you will continuously work closely with users and clients from the business. The tasks involve:
- Map operations/users within a sub-portfolio through usage studies, interviews, etc. and visualize results in e.g. personas, user journeys, impact maps, etc.
- Set requirements and/or design useful and accessible digital solutions.
- Support and guide development assignments regarding usability and accessibility.
- Conduct usability tests and evaluation of developed or procured digital solutions.
- Develop KTH’s capabilities in UX design through development and improvement of methods, models, tools, etc.
Your responsibilities in the team:
- Always put the user and the business first, carefully balanced against goals and conditions.
- Together with the team, lead the work of mapping and understanding the needs of the business and users, as well as conditions that are relevant to the objectives of the assignments.
- Ensure that solution design takes into account the needs and conditions of users.
- Support the team’s employees in the operational work on research and design.
- Preserve and share knowledge about the needs and conditions of the business and users.
- Recommend processes, methods, tools, documentation, etc. that are effective and appropriate for the work.

Qualifications
Claim
- Relevant academic education or a degree from a relevant university degree in UX design.
- At least five years of experience in UX and/or service design from research to design.
- Experience working with web accessibility, compliance and evaluation of WCAG 2 or later versions.
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English as required in daily work.

You enjoy working in a team and like to have many contact areas outside of it, while having the ability to work independently. Meritorious
- At least a bachelor’s degree from a college or university.
- Work experience in planning and leading projects/assignments.
- Work experience from a government agency.
- Experience working as a UX designer in a development team.
